My name is Catrin, I am 31 y.o and married to Tommy who is 42 y.o. Together we have two children at the age 10 and 13 y.o. I am working as a Personal Trainer while Tommy is working offshore with surface treatment. All my freetime goes to the children and the dogs. Both Kaiyuh and Kenai live indoors with us as a full time member of the family. We consider ourselves a normal family. We live in Norway, just outside Bergen. We have lots of nature and mountains around us that we use daily. We do have a schedule when it comes to Kaiyuh and Kenai's training. We do backpacking, riding the kickbike, obedience training, bloodtracking and dogshows. Many years ago I took education as obedience instructor, and I can certainly notice how this has helped in the upbringing of both Kaiyuh and Kenai. People often ask me why I have taken puppy classes and obedience training with Kaiyuh and Kenai as I hold the course itself, but I believe that one can never learn too much when it comes to dogs. I guess I can also say that I'm the biggest proponent when it comes to dogs, Tommy is a little more laid back there. He loves both the dogs but he's just not as crazy about dogs as I am. Or at least he claims :P
Our Malamute History
A few years ago we came across this wonderful but tough breed, which resulted in curiosity, and with online searching, attendance at exhibitions to see and talk to different owners / breeders of the breed. The choice was simple, we wanted one. We're not going to hide the fact that this breed is very appealing in appearance, with its quiet nature and its capacity to pull heavy over longer distances, its pleasure to participate in so many activities with its owner, I think is outstanding . The search for breeders began, and I must humbly admit that we really had no idea what we were looking for. It ended as it often does, when you do not know what you are doing, we got ripped off.
We had for a long time been looking for a new breeder and stretched us into the wide world. Where we came across Kennel My Alaskan in Denmark. They seemed genuinely real and honest in their work, but the experience from the earlier breeder was still strong, so we began to search for previous buyers for references. The feedback was exceptional. We finally contacted Kennel My Alaskan and the understanding was great for the previous experience. We were put on the waiting list for the next litter and the time went.
Finally the day came, when we travelled down to Denmark to get our little girl. The people behind Kennel My Alaskan was so incredibly hospitable and lovely. They took so good care of us those days we where there. We got to meet the other Kennel My Alaskan dogs and they where outstanding. As I write this, there has never been a doubt in my mind that we did right this time, and for us to come on such a respectable breeders list was a huge joy. The people behind My Alaskan - Camilla Brøgger and Bo Wûrden, said to us as we signed the byuers contract - welcome to The My Alaskan Family. We take care of each other, and it sure went that way. We have made such good friendship with all the puppybuyers and we honestly feel like My Alaskan is the family we self chose.
We feel so lucky to be engaged by a breeder whom took us into the magnificent world of the Alaskan Malamute!
